Raymond “Dr. Rackle” Williams Sr. is a New Orleans trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator, and bandleader. As leader of Dr. Rackle & The Sound Griots, he presents authentic New Orleans jazz, original compositions, and educational programs for festivals, performing arts centers, jazz clubs, schools, and special events.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rackle has performed and recorded with distinguished artists including Jackie McLean, Dr. Michael White, Greg Stafford, Leroy Jones, the Hot 8 Brass Band, Blind Boys of Alabama, Kirk Joseph, Anders Osborne, and many others.
